It's not ever OCTOBER!

Holiday decorating is seriously addicitng! Pinterest doesn't help. There were a lot of pins that helped inspire me for my Halloween decor, all have my own twist (aka: what I could find at my craft stores). I had to pull in the reigns a little (yes, this is holding back!) because this our first Halloween together and I'll have plenty of time to add to our collection! I don't want to spend tons and accumulate too much, we'll just have to move it! I settled on making a Halloween wall and adding some spurts elsewhere (like the bathroom and the door). Here's my wall:

I saw tons of decorated mantles, but I don't have a mantle! So I painted this shelf black (already regretting that as I think of using this 'mantle' for other holidays!), put it above my couch and am calling it my mantle!

Upper left: wooden letter, scrapbook paper, and mod podge. Seen here.
Upper right: I saw this where they used ceiling medallions on the wall. I found this (I think it's an old stove burner) at a thrift store and fell in love with it's detail and uniqueness.
Lower left: can't find the pin that gave me this idea (sorry!). It's a raven from the Dollar Tree just hot glues onto paper. So cheap and easy, but so cool and adds dimension!
Lower right: Apothecary jars are everywhere! I liked this pin. Found this whole set for $15 at Ross. And added candy corns, candy pumpkins, and chocolate eyeballs (which I tried SO hard to have all face forward to be extra creepy). Added bonus: these candies are gross so they'll last until Halloween!

Upper: This idea is original. Ideally I want pictures from my childhood Halloweens and Husbands! This makes it so personal. How often are these pictures hid away in a box or scrapbook?
Bottom left: I saw this somewhere too...I should've taken more time on the writing, but I was ready to be done. I made to border with scrapbook paper - my hope was to make the different creams mesh better.
Bottom right: Saw this and really liked it! I made mine simpler, no burning involved. Just cut up pieces of newspaper, glue stick and a black paper.

This is my FAVORITE piece! I got the silhouette idea here and made it Halloween. I just Googled witch silhouettes and  fell for this one. My one hiccup was figuring out how to trace it since the paper was black and I couldn't use a light box or anything to trace...I ended up taping the image over the paper and using an exacto knife to cut it out. Only issue left is what to do with my perfect witch cut out?!?! I can't throw it away, I'm so pathetic!
I'm getting together with some friends tomorrow to make this. It's not even October and I'm already decked out!
