Green onions and cilantro

After freezing buttermilk (check it out here) I've been a little obsessed with using my ice cube trays as frozen portion control. I saw this pin on freezing green onions and kept thinking of previous experiences where vegetables freeze together in one huge brick. So instead of trying it their way, I went with what's been working used my ice trays. I froze green onions and cilantro (I used it here) and I'm glad that I did. The green onions didn't clump together as bad as other veggies I've tried, but more than half of them were clumped...would've been a mess if they were all in a water bottle! I put a little water in the cilantro to help it stick together...in retrospect I'm not sure why I did that, but it'll work with the cilantro recipes I want it for. These are both items that I love to cook with but hate to buy because I can never use them up in time! OR we go on cilantro overload for a week as I make every recipe I can to use it all up. I think I'll end up adding these items more to my recipes as they're on hand, excited for that!
