It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

December is finally here! Now I don't have to feel so bad about having my house Christmas ritzed out. I've had a lot (A LOT) of fun creating decor for mine and Husband's first Christmas married (and doing it all on pennies, of course!). We won't even be here for Christmas day, but we'll still enjoy it for half of December (and probably half of January...there is way more motivation to get the decor up than to take it all down).
I am so excited for Husband and I to mesh our holiday traditions and come up with traditions of our own. Pretty sure he'll love broom hockey on Christmas Eve and cinnamon rolls for breakfast on Christmas morning - not so sure he'll like that we all sleep in on Christmas though. One thing I have really cherished about the holidays is reading stories with my family all December long - I'm going to miss that this year cause I only have one Christmas book (The Red Ranger Came Calling - if I could only have one book, this would be it. It is EPIC! I highly recommend adding it your collection). What are some of your traditions?
Here's a look at some of the 'details' around our house right now - I trimmed everything!

Got these lovely berries for 50% at Michaels plus 20% off my whole purchase...I might be a black Friday craft shopper from now on!

That's a real poinsettia! I love having real plants in my house - makes me feel like we're not in college life. This one was $1 at Home Depot on black Friday. The pine cones were $1.50 on Black Friday at Michaels, pule 20% off my whole purchase! I got the placemat a long time ago at TJMaxx and the holly cookie jar was a Savers find years ago that I've stashed at my mom's (she's so lucky to hold all my junk).

My mom brought over a ton of greenery & garland that she got one year for 90% off after Christmas - I'v been trying to not buy things and wait to get deals like these. I was really able to go all out with the BOXES of stuff my mom brought over during Thanksgiving.

I bought these bows (I'm so embarrassed) because they were also 50% off and the 20% off my whole purchase. AND because none of the ribbon was nearly as cute or as perfect for my house as these!

Mom also brought over a bunch of twinkle lights - that was Husband's one Christmas decor request = twinkle lights. It really does get us into the holiday spirit - every night feel kind of like a special occasion when we turn the lights on. We've been making herbal tea or hot cocoa every night and sit on our couch looking at the lights (and Stella, of course).

I have been wanting to make a jingle bell wreath, but with this one 50% off + 20% of my purchase...it cost half as much as making it! And it was so perfectly stinking cute! So I can't say that everything is made or free from my mom...but I'm okay with that! I debated on waiting until after Christmas to buy it on a deal, but I don't think I could get it for a better price - $6...okay, you twisted my arm!

I love the details  - LOVE them! I bought these cute ornaments for our doorknobs (Michael's, you're killing me!) - I don't have any ornaments on my tree, but I do on my doorknobs.

Sleds always make me think of a Christmas book my mom has - Keeping a Christmas Secret. This one is also worth adding to your collection too - this is likely our most quoted Christmas book...or maybe just book in general (except maybe Jane Austen).
